You needed people because software had to be assembled by hand. You needed managers because people had to coordinate. You needed offices because the work lived in the room. You needed capital because the machine was hungry before it was useful.
The machine was built for a world where software was scarce. That world no longer exists.
The current wave of Silicon Valley AI startups is selling comfort to incumbents that want transformation without amputation. Chatbots. Copilots. AI-first CRMs. Anything that can be bolted onto a five-thousand-person org chart without asking why the org chart is still there. A new instrument panel for the old ship.
We are taking the opposite bet.
No office or managers, because coordination is the tax, not the work. No hiring plan as proof of ambition because headcount is not leverage anymore. Consumer-facing because the best way to beat incumbents is not to advise them, but to take their customers.
The scarce work is now upstream and downstream of the machine: knowing what should exist, knowing what should be removed, and knowing how to put it in front of people who will care.
The old company asks how much AI it can add. The new company asks how much company it can remove.
